Tips For Jump Starting Your Car

Tips For Jump Starting Your Car

Jump Starter

You may think that jump starting a car is a simple, no-frills process, and it can be. However, there are necessary precautions that you must take when working to do this correctly and to prevent injury. You need to know that car battery actually is a "live" thing and contains explosive hydrogen gas. Albeit while it is a small amount, it is a battery charging by-product and can be dangerous.

Here are some rules to obey when jump starting a car:

Always avoid having any flammable material that can produce sparks around a live battery. Furthermore, no live electric or flammable material should be kept around jumper cables that are in use.

Remember to never hook a car battery in a position that could be considered a series circuit. If this is done, there is a high possibility your car's entire electrical system could catch fire, also ruining the starter.

When jump starting the car, make sure the batteries that are connecting have the same voltage. While most vehicles today use a 12 volt battery, some older models use batteries that have different properties.

Always ensure that the batteries that are being connected to each other have the same polarity, in that they both have the negative terminal grounded.

Keep the vehicles a reasonable distance from each other, do not let them touch.

Make sure vent cap holes are not covered or obstructed by any material.

Do not smoke while you are jump starting a car and keep lit cigarettes away from the batteries.

If you are trying to jump start a car in cold weather first make sure that the battery electrolyte is not covered in ice or frost. This is highly likely if your car's battery has been discharging liquid in cold weather.

Make sure the electrolyte fluid stays away from your skin. Contact medical care if this fluid makes skin contact.

It is important that you work to make sure you and other parties stay safe when jump starting a car. Always use your hazard lights and make sure you are pulled into a secure location or parking lot. If at all possible, avoid jump starting a car on the side of a busy road or highway in inclement or bad weather. Not only do you increase your chances of doing something wrong because you have to maneuver a car to reach a stalled vehicle, but it is dangerous to be so close to traffic.

Finally, after you are done jump starting the car and feel confident that the vehicle has been sufficiently charged, make sure you turn on the headlights, the heater and rear defroster of the jump started vehicle and the vehicle that was being used for the charge as this will help reduce the possibility of a voltage spike after the jumper cables are disconnected. A voltage spike is very common, especially in cars that have computer controls. Follow these guidelines the next time you are faced with a car that needs a jump. Know it is an easy process, but you must consider correct safety measures in order to guarantee complete safety.

Starting a Home Based Business Online? Don't Make the Same Mistakes I Did

Starting a Home Based Business Online? Don't Make the Same Mistakes I Did

Jump Starter

You must be very excited about starting your own home based business online. I don't blame you one bit. I was too (and still am for that matter).

Let's face it, there are HUGE benefits for finding the ultimate home business online. It's fun and exciting and has the potential for incredible rewards.

So what mistakes did I make that you should avoid?

I knew I wanted to work from home and online. I was already in network marketing and although it has its own stumbling blocks, I knew I could incorporate it with the Internet...I just didn't know how.I wanted my network marketing business to be a key factor in starting a home based business online for years to come.

So what I did was jump in with both feet, not knowing where to start, signing up for everything I came across...costing me a fortune, I might add.

I quickly became "information overloaded"! I was almost incapacitated by it all. I was seeing so much and reading so much I didn't have a clue where to begin. I was almost paralyzed into inactivity because I was so overloaded.

When you're just starting with your home based business online, it's easy to get swallowed up in information, gurus, and "secrets" to make you rich overnight. They make it all sound so good, you actually start to drool at the possibilities.

Suddenly, you don't know what direction to go in. One expert is telling you one thing and sending you down one path, and then another is sending you in a different one. Your head is spinning and you feel enormously frustrated. I know I did. I spent more than a few days in tears over it all.

Part of the dilemma with your home based business online is not knowing what business will be most profitable in the first place, and then how on earth do you set yourself up to get started? There are any number of possibilities that can bring you success.

If you try to go in both directions at the same time, you might just find yourself wanting to quit because it all seems too hard or because you believe at this point that they're all scams.

This couldn't be further from the truth. Are there online business scams? You bet there are. Do you have to be careful? You bet you do.

Don't believe the hype.

Sometimes it can be difficult to separate hype from good 'ole heart felt enthusiasm. After awhile you begin to see the difference.

One person will be telling you how he made a million dollars over the weekend while he was asleep and another is telling you he made thousands overnight...and you can too if you just buy his ebook.

I spent a lot of money buying different programs and ebooks. Some are very good and well worth it and others aren't.

Is there money to be made with your home based business online? You bet there is and quite a bit.

Will it happen overnight? Absolutely NOT!

Do you have to actually work for your success? Absolutely!

What I want you to take away from this is to be realistic about what you're looking for. Understand that there are many legitimate home based online business methods you can tap into and you can achieve enormous success.

Choose a mentor and a direction and stay focused on that path. Don't be distracted and go off on a tangent (I did) because you'll lose direction and momentum and therefore time and money.Trust yourself and in your abilities to make this a success, no matter what kind of internet business you want to explore.

"Keep Your Head Down and Your Bum UP"! In other words, work hard and put the time, money and effort in to succeed.

Learn from the mistakes of others! Why re-invent the wheel?

Starting a home based online business is not easy but it can be simple. It takes time, money and effort to succeed but well worth it in the end. Having said that, it is far less expensive to build your business this way than in traditional businesses.

Remember that you and you alone are responsible for your success or failure.

No one is going to build your business for you. BUT...you do not have to do it alone. For example, you can benefit from my successes and failures saving you time money in the process.

There are many FREE resources available which you should take advantage of because there is huge value in them. Ultimately, as you progress you will need to spend a small amount of money in your continued learning and developing but certainly the free resources are the place to start.

Be excited about your decision to start a home based business online. You have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit.

Knowledge is the key and you have to start somewhere.

Don't get caught in information overload. Choose a mentor who you feel is credible and can help you find your feet in this business and then stay focused and don't get distracted. Keep you eyes on the end result.

Take advice and become a student for success.

Starting a Law Firm - What's in a Name?

Starting a Law Firm - What's in a Name?

Jump Starter

When I started my law firm I was confronted with many choices. What kind of law will I practice? Where will I practice? Who do I want for clients? What kind of fees will I charge? It wasn't until I actually got into the planning stages of the law firm that I began to see these questions as more big picture, firm philosophy type of questions. These type of questions may never be fully answered because they are not static.

One big picture question that is static and that can have a profound effect on the success of your firm is its name. What's in a name? A lot if you think about it. Think about your own name for starters. What if you had been named something different? What if you were a boy and had been given a girls name? What if you were born in a particular religion and were given a name not associated with that religion? Have you ever been to a place where for some reason your name was looked down upon? These same types of feelings can be encountered with your law firm name.

The great thing about starting a law firm is that you get to think about this and plan ahead. If you are starting a law firm and are reading this article, you are probably either fairly young, fairly technologically proficient, or both. If you are, then you can probably see that the face and structure of the practice of law are shifting gradually beneath everyone's feet. Competition is fierce, and image is everything. And guess what, one of the first things people will learn about you, something they will probably use to form an opinion about you before they even meet you, is your firm name.

When naming your law firm there are some things you should think about to make sure you are maximizing that first impression. First, don't use your name. Second, it should be easy to remember. And finally, it should make people feel and think the way you want them to feel and think about your law firm. Although this may seem easy, when you actually try to do it, I think you'll find it is a pretty tough exercise.

Some you are probably thinking, "why not use your name? Everyone else does." That is precisely why. Although people have different goals, if you are starting a law firm, one of those goals is probably to make money practicing law. You make money by having people sign up for your services. People sign up for your services when they know who you are. Why blend in with everyone else when you can set yourself apart? Not only does not using your name allow you to present an image in prospective client's minds, it allows you to build the brand you want. A great example of this is Valorem Law Group. If you look at their website a central theme is discarding the billable hour to provide clients value for what they are being paid. If you don't already know, valorem is latin for value (loosely). Do you see the jump start you can get on the competition with a good name?

Second, easy to remember. This is practical for obvious reasons. If people refer your services to friends or colleagues, what is easier to remember, Valorem Law Group or Smith, Sands, Zaremba, Charles, Flippy and Jagermeister? Make your name easy to remember and you make it easier to get business - a key when starting a law firm.

Finally, the brand. When you start your own law firm you start out as the brand. At all times you are promoting your practice, you are what your practice stands for. But before anyone knows what you are all about, you can start them down the right track with a great name that represents the firm philosophy. A strong, powerful, confident name can make the difference in someone choosing to call you. It can also mask your size. "The law firm of Joe Shmoe" implies that you are a small firm. Like it or not many people associate small firm size with poor performance or cheap services. Look bigger than you are immediately by having a firm name that connotes structure, organization, and numbers.

Get a Smaller Waist Starting Today!

Get a Smaller Waist Starting Today!

Jump Starter

Today I want to show you how to get a smaller waist starting today.  If your current efforts are coming up short, then stop what you're doing now.  You can't expect something that isn't working now to suddenly change.  That's the definition of insanity.

Read these proven and effective methods and start putting them to use immediately.

Lessons On How To Get a Smaller Waist

Do hula hooping daily

You don't have to spend hours at the gym to lose weight.  In just 15 minutes a day, you can effectively flatten, tone, and lose inches from your stomach.  You'll also define an attractive and more feminine waist in just a few short weeks.  Realistically speaking, that's about as fast as anyone can hope to see noticeable results.

But one key point with this exercise is that you must use a weighted hula hoop.  I'll tell you why.  The added weight makes the exercise much easier.  You may think that the added weight would make it harder, but it's not the case.  The added weight actually makes the hoop slow down.  So, it won't be falling to the ground every 5 seconds.

The hoop will rotate at a speed that makes it possible for you to continue shaking your hips to see maximum results.  However you decide to do this exercise, just make a commitment to doing it for at least 15 minutes everyday.  You don't have to do it all at once, either.   Fit mini-workouts into your schedule if that makes things easier.

Use a mini-trampoline to jump on

A mini-trampoline is excellent for working the entire body.  Static tension created from the exercise stimulates every muscle you have.  Your abs get indirectly worked because they are used to stabilize your body during the exercise.  You'll burn a ton of calories, too.

Try to do this for 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week.

Those are 2 of my favorite exercises on how to get a smaller waist fast.

Beading 101 - Starting An Accessory Making Business

Beading 101 - Starting An Accessory Making Business

Jump Starter

POINTS TO CONSIDER:

CREATIVE IDEAS & PASSION IN FASHION ACCESSORIES:

Before going to this business, you must be interested and love fashion accessories to appreciate the art and craft of accessory making. You must also have a creative mind and vast imagination to produce unique and exceptional designs. I believe that "being interested" in fashion accessory is the most important factor to consider before to going to this kind of business.

STARTING CAPITAL:

It really depends on what you want to produce. If you want to produce accessory out of precious stones, like swarovski, pearl or gem; you must prepare at least PHP 3,000 () to PHP 5,000 (5) for startup capital. But if you will just use ordinary beads, startup capital of PHP 1,000 () is enough.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

Aside from the stones and beads, you need the following materials and tools

Tools:

1.) Pliers

a.) Long nose and flat nose pliers - used to handle pins, bend wire, crimp bead, etc.
b.) Round nose pliers - used to make loops for the pins.

2.) Cutter: for cutting pins and wires.

Materials:

1.) Pins

a.) Head pins - nail-like pin (flat base) use to create dangles for your jewelry
b.) Eye Pins - have loops in the end of the pin, used as connectors from one bead to another

2.) Ear wires or fish hooks - hook that goes through the ear

3.) Clasps - a fastener that attaches two things, like the ends of a necklace or a bracelets

4.) Open jump rings - are jump rings that are not soldered shut. They can be opened or closed using pliers

5.) Trigger clasp - utilizes a lever and spring to open and close the arm of the clasp. Trigger clasps can come in various shapes such as an oval or heart

6.) Stringing materials - composed of multiple strands of steel wound together and then coated with nylon. It is sometimes referred to as tiger tail.

7.) Bead cap - used to "dress up" a bead, crystal, stone, or other type of bead. It adds a touch of gorgeousness to your bead.

Those are just basics. You will need more stuff as you go along.

WHERE TO BUY MATERIALS: (in the Philippines)

1. ) QUIAPO - The Philippine bead paradise. There are so many bead shops to choose from along this area. Its in Villalobos St., the narrow street in front of Quiapo Church, behind the Mercury Drug Building. The most famous shop of them all is the Wellmansons shop, because you will see all materials you will need for accessory making at a very affordable price.

TIPS & TECHNIQUES IN MAKING FASHION ACCESSORY:

Browse the web, you will see a lot of tips and techniques for beginners. There are many sites that offer free tutorial on accessory making.
